Pre-Flop
The real action in Texas Hold 'em Poker begins with the player sitting next to the Big Blind. The position in which he exists is called 'Under the Gun' because he is the first person to act before any supporting set of cards or the 'Community Cards' are dealt. As the round commences, players can Call, Raise, Or Fold when their turns arise.
Flop
As the first round gets over, the Dealer castoffs or 'burns' the topmost placed card of the remaining pack of cards and then flips the top three cards, face-up, on the table. These cards kept face up are called the 'Flop'. This is again followed by another round, starting with the player towards the left side of the Dealer.
Turn also called Fourth Street
The process is repeated again as the Dealer discards or 'burns' the top-placed card in his or her deck. The Dealer then places one more Community Card facing up on the table. As can be recounted from the above stages, it is the fourth Community Card and is popularly known as the 'Turn or 'Fourth Street. Another round again succeeds this.
River or Fifth Street
The Dealer again cats off the topmost placed card of the remaining deck of cards and then puts the last card facing up on the table for the players. This card is called the 'River' or 'Fifth Street'.

Showdown
The end of this entire exercise is to let players make a combination of their cards and Community Cards to create a winning combination or 'Hand.' Thus, each of the players has seven cards to play with and to make a winning five-card combination from it. As usual, the last round starts with the player to the left of the Dealer. Once the final round has concluded, all players reveal their cards, or it is time for 'Showdown,' and the winner is decided based on who has the best combination of cards.
